Clemson has been left out of the AP Poll Top 25 for the sixth week in a row.

Despite their problems against Wake Forest, Clemson is once again overlooked by the AP poll, which keeps Duke and other teams at No. 2.

For the second consecutive week, the Tigers are out of the AP Poll Top 25. Over the last two weeks, Clemson basketball has trounced conference opponents after another.

Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Cal, Stanford, and Syracuse all had double-digit drops. The Panthers fought hard but lost 78-75 in overtime, leaving just Pitt and Louisville unscathed. Louisville was the only defeat within the time period.

Furthermore, the Tigers are loathed by AP voters for various reasons. They’ve dominated since dropping back-to-back games to South Carolina and Memphis, but they’ve been out of the rankings for six weeks in a row.

The only plausible explanation is Clemson’s two quad-2 defeats, one of which was an away rivalry game. That couldn’t be the reason they’re not allowed in, can it? Duke, on the other hand, remains ranked second despite struggling to defeat Wake Forest, a team that the Tigers comfortably defeated.

The Blue Devils faced the 9-11 NC State Wolfpack yesterday after the poll was out, and they fell behind at halftime. They have just pulled away a few minutes before the buzzer in their last two games, but there appears to be no penalty.

The only other ACC club to reach the list is Louisville, which has one more defeat than Clemson. The Cardinals are fortunate that all five of their losses are quad-1 in character.
