Breaking news! The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agency 7-footer Alex Len, and are waiving Christian Wood ¹. The Lakers annulled their trade deadline deal for Hornets center Mark Williams owing to physical reasons.

Len, a 31-year-old veteran center, has previously played for the Sacramento Kings, Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, and Phoenix Suns ¹. Throughout his 680-game career, he averaged 6.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks.

Len will add depth to the Lakers’ frontline, joining Jaxson Hayes as positional centers ⁴. He is expected to play a key role, especially with Anthony Davis now in Dallas after the Luka Doncic trade ³.

Christian Wood has not played this season due to offseason knee surgery ⁴. His departure frees up space for Len, and the Lakers may yet be able to sign another player through the buyout market.
