Besiktas and Rangers are reportedly still in transfer negotiations in relation to the Super Lig powerhouses’ pursuit of Ridvan Yilmaz during current transfer window, according to a report in the Turkish media.
Even though Philippe Clement has started the Turkey international in the last six league games, there have been rumors in recent weeks that Rangers may be looking to let him go.
He was not included in Rangers’ team for last night’s Europa League match against Union Saint-Gilloise, despite his recent involvement.
Rangers aren’t willing to let the 23-year-old go on a free transfer, as was previously claimed in Turkey, according to a Spor report on the most recent developments surrounding Besiktas’ pursuit of him.
After acquiring him from Besiktas for €4 million in 2022, the Ibrox club is reportedly seeking a transfer price of about €5 million. The Istanbul club, however, is only willing to make an offer of €3 million and is not willing to match this player’s valuation.
As both clubs attempt to come to an agreement before to the transfer deadline, negotiations are anticipated to continue. Before joining the Glasgow team, the youthful left defender played 62 appearances for the Istanbul team after graduating from Besiktas’ youth program.
Yilmaz is under contract with Rangers through June 2027 and has made 15 appearances for the Scottish team so far this season.
